My Story

My journey into specialist mentoring began long before it became my profession. As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent woman, I navigated much of my education without the language, understanding, or support that I now know can be life-changing. Higher education was both transformative and overwhelming, and it was specialist mentoring that became a lifeline. Having a mentor who was also neurodivergent helped me understand how my mind worked, how to work with it rather than against it, and how to believe in my academic potential.

This experience shaped not only my resilience but also my purpose. I finished my BSc in Psychology with Education and continue to build a career supporting autistic, ADHD, and vulnerable learners across schools, colleges, and universities. I have worked in safeguarding leadership, intensive mentoring, coaching, and wellbeing roles, always driven by one core belief: students do not need to be “fixed”. Students need to be understood, supported, and empowered.

Today, my work combines lived experience, academic knowledge, and professional practice. I support autistic and ADHD students to reduce barriers to learning, strengthen executive functioning, build confidence, and develop sustainable strategies for both academic success and personal wellbeing. I also work with educators, mentors, and coaches who want to better understand neurodivergent learners and create environments where difference is not merely accommodated but valued.

At the heart of my practice is compassion, curiosity, and respect. I believe that when students feel safe, seen, and supported, they begin to trust themselves again. And when educators understand the hidden curriculum experienced by neurodivergent learners, teachers become powerful, confident agents of inclusion.

This is not just my work, it is my purpose.

My Approach to Neurodivergence

Neurodivergence is not something to be fixed! Neurodivergent learners have great strengths but equally have significant struggles and barriers to learning, which are significantly influenced by the environment.  When you provide an authentic, inclusive environment, a neurodivergent learner thrives and excels.

We explore both visible and hidden barriers at your pace, interest and depth.  Life is overwhelming enough, so the relationship we create is built on the messiness that ADHD/autism sometimes brings. You'll be fully accepted without judgement. As a neurodivergent mentor/coach myself, I will make plenty of messy moments myself, but to me, that's what makes us human and normal. No forced social norms or neurotypical outcomes.

My background is in psychology, so the majority of my work is either evidence-based or supported. However, we have a long way to go before evidence-based studies truly represent the experiences of neurodivergent communities. This means sometimes it takes lots of trial and error to find what works for you, but good news for you my hyperfocus is complex problem solving, which i have always excelled in. There is nothing too complicated that cannot be solved with the right support.
